Code Requirements for Test and Assemblies
Fire Resistance construction is very detailed and needs to be followed by the code books. This is where the difference is with Intumescent Coatings. Most all Intumescent Coating companies have a fire retardant product. Those products are for Class A type ratings with is called a E-84 test. In order for any Intumescent Coatings to be used in fire resistance construction, they must pass a E-119 test. In order to be listed with ICC, the Intumesscent product must have been tested on a 100 SQFT test speciem. Coatings and compaines can use some very fast talking and ways to confuse the fire retardant verses fire resistance. Our Intumescent Coatings are Real Testing so we can give Real Solutions.
